Overview of PGMES
The Postgraduate Medical Education Society (PGMES) of Hospital Alor Setar was founded in Hospital Alor Setar on August 1st, 1997. The society aspires to synchronize and coordinate the teachings and educational activities for junior doctors and paramedics among different disciplines in the hospital.
Functions of PGMES
Biennial Scientific Meeting
Conduct The Biennial Scientific Meeting, a mega 2-yearly PGMES event.
Short Courses
Organize short courses in medicolegal issues, medical ethics, statistics, and leadership training.
Donations and charity
Organize donations and charity drives related to hospital and medical services.
Supporting educational activities
Supporting educational activities of all departments and units in the hospital by providing secretarial services, related resources, financial facilities, and virtual platforms.
Supporting individual educational endeavours
Supporting individual educational endeavors, by providing financial awards for original publications or presentations.
