THE POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION SOCIETY (PGMES)
HOSPITAL SULTANAH BAHIYAH, ALOR SETAR, KEDAH
"The journey shapes us;
the destination merely
echoes its song"
Overview
"In the heart of Hospital Alor Setar, on August 1st, 1997, a beacon of collective learning and unity emerged—The Postgraduate Medical Education Society (PGMES). Its inception marked not just the birth of a society but the dawn of a transformative journey. Like a symphony conductor, it aimed to harmonize the educational endeavors of junior doctors and paramedics across diverse disciplines within the hospital's corridors.
Under the visionary leadership of PGMES' inaugural President, Dato’ Dr. Ragupathy Naidu, the society found its roots, etching its historic origins at The Library, Hospital Alor Setar, Lebuhraya Darulaman. Within the hallowed walls of the auditorium adjacent to the venerable old library, the initial endeavors of this society blossomed, resonating with the echoes of shared knowledge and impassioned discourse.
As the hospital's landscape evolved, birthing new realms of specialties and subspecialties within the splendid edifice of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, so did the society burgeon. Its membership swelled, and its influence expanded, assuming greater roles in shaping the educational tapestry of the institution, weaving together a fabric of brilliance and dedication."
